Pinoy Idol TOP 10

The elimination of another contestant was again in the offing to eventually discover who among them would be counted among the Top 10 and be a step closer to their dream of becoming the first Pinoy Idol. Photos courtesy of GMA Network.It was a teary-eyed farewell as Mae was told by host Raymond Gutierrez that she was the one who would bid goodbye as she garnered the lowest number of votes among the contestants in this round.

 

Warren, Gretchen and Kid were the first ones called out onstage. The judges told Kid that he may have “overdone” his song choice but were otherwise pleased with Warren and Gretchen’s performance especially with Gretchen who was told by Jolina Magdangal that her husky voice that night worked to her advantage. However, it was Warren who was informed that he belonged to the bottom three.

Next in line were Penelope, Robby and Mae. All three contestants were generally given good reviews by the panel of judges but, but Mae was then told that she would be among the bottom three.

The next batch comprised of Jayann, Ram and Sue, all of whom got the judges’ nods. Ram was also lauded by all the celebrity guests, particularly former The Dawn frontman and Pinoy rock legend legend Jet Pangan. Jaimie Rivera, Aiza Seguerra and Rey Valera were the other musicians who witnessed the performances. Judge Ogie Alcasid, was however not that pleased with Sue’s performance. All three were told they would be able to continue their Idol dreams as part of the Top Ten.

Lastly, it was Toffer and Daryl’s turn. Toffer was reminded by Raymond that the judges found his song choice to be poor but considered Daryl’s performance to be okay. Toffer was later told that he was part of bottom three, along with Warren and Mae.

It was a surprised Mae Flores, however, who told that she would not be among the Top Ten. Tears immediately fell after the announcement. She delivered an emotional final performance, then bid farewell to the remaining finalists.

The Top Ten Pinoy Idol contestants are Penelope, Jayann Bautista, Gretchen Espina, Sue Ellen, Ram Chaves, Kid Camaya, Daryl Celis, Warren Antig, Toffer Rei, and Robby Navarro. — Text by Erick Mataverde.
