CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Chattanooga firefighters rescued several cats during a house fire that investigators say was probably caused by the cats themselves.
Fire department spokesman Bruce Garner said firefighters responded to an alarm Thursday morning and found a fire in the kitchen. While no one was home, they found about 10 cats inside.

TOKYO – Sony announced Thursday it is recalling 440,000 Vaio laptop computers worldwide due to a wiring flaw that could cause overheating.
Sony Corp. said the recall involves 19 models in the Vaio TZ series manufactured between May 2007 and July 2008.

LONDON – Buckingham Palace says that Queen Elizabeth II will visit Slovenia and Slovakia in October.
The palace announced Thursday that the queen and her husband, Prince Philip, will fly to Slovenia on Oct. 21, and then travel to Slovakia on Oct. 23.
The queen will be visiting both countries for the first time. – AP
