Arroyo to visit Tiya Dely Friday – radio report

MANILA, Philippines – President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo will join Friday the throngs of Filipinos who will pay their last respects to veteran broadcaster Fidela “Tiya Dely” Magpayo before she is buried Saturday.

Radio dzRH reported that Arroyo was scheduled to pay her last respects to Magpayo Thursday, but a conflict in her Palace schedule prompted her to reschedule her “visit.”

The dzRH report said Arroyo is scheduled to pay her last respects to Magpayo at 10 a.m. Friday. Magpayo is scheduled to be buried Saturday.

Government officials who paid their last respects to Magpayo Thursday included Public Attorney’s Office head Persida Acosta and justice assistant secretary Romeo Galvez.

Magpayo, 87, died Monday, almost two days after suffering a stroke during her program on dzRH. – GMANews.TV
