Philippines’ Finest Marian Rivera willing to pose for FHM but with limitations

 
“Basta sa lahat ng bagay, ready ako. Pero yung pagpo-pose nang sobrang sexy, hindi pa namin napag-uusapan ng manager ko. At saka palagi kong sinasabi, may limitation pa rin. Kung maganda yung concept, bakit hindi? Pero may limitation pa rin,” says Marian Rivera about posing for FHM.

In-announce na officially ng mismong editor-in-chief ng FHM Philippines na si Allan Madrilejos ang pagkakaboto kay Marian Rivera bilang Philippines’ Finest sa 100 Sexiest Women in The World 2008. Ginawa ni Allan ang announcement sa panayam sa kanya ng Showbiz Central noong Linggo, June 29,

           

Ayon kay Allan, “Para siya [Marian] na ngayon ang sexiest Filipina sa bansa.”

           

Record-breaking ang pagiging No. 1 ni Marian dahil siya pa lang ang kauna-unahang non-cover girl na naging Philippines’ Finest ng FHM.

           

Binigyang-linaw naman ng editor-in-chief ng FHM na porke’t hindi pa nakakapag-pose for cover ang isang artista sa FHM ay hindi na puwedeng i-nominate. Paliwanag ni Allan, “Hindi rin naman kailangang maging active sa lahat ng events ng FHM, e, puntahan mo. Lahat ng gusto nilang [fans i-nominate is welcome. The fact na siguro, si Marian ang nanguna, isang indikasyon siguro na yung [pag-ilanlang] ng kanyang career.”

 

Nagbigay naman ng kanyang pahayag si Marian sa pagkakahirang niya bilang Sexiest Woman.

           

“Sobrang saya ko!” bulalas ni Marian. “Kasi hindi ko rin ine-expect. Kasi hindi pa ako nagko-cover, ‘tapos naging number one ako. Nakakagulat din at saka doon ko rin lalong nalaman na yung mga fans ko at nagmamahal sa akin, sobrang mahal na mahal ako at wala silang sawa sa pagboto sa akin.”

 

Binanggit din ng Showbiz Central ang total votes na nakuha ni Marian na inilabas ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal). Si Marian ay nakakuha ng kabuuang boto na 316, 135 kumpara sa 123,239 ni Katrina Halili, na siyang pumangalawa.

           

Kung matatandaan, for two consecutive years ay si Katrina ang nag-top bilang Philippines’ Finest ng FHM. Dahil dito, muling naungkat ang dating isyu sa dalawa, pero mabilis naman itong itinanggi ni Katrina nang makapanayam siya ng Showbiz Central.

           

“Okey lang yun, ganoon talaga ang mga fans. Yun nga ang nakakatuwa sa kanila, di ba? Sinusuportahan nila kami. Pero sana huwag nating gawing dahilan na pag-away-awayin kami. Hindi kami magkakaaway nila Marian. Hindi kami naglalaban do’n. Ano lang yun, boto ng tao. Yun ang gusto ng tao.”

           

Dagdag niya, “At saka nag-number one na rin naman ako. Hindi na rin naman nakaka-sad yung rank ko, number two rin naman ako. Hindi naman siguro puwedeng for life, mag-number one!”

 

Inamin ni Allan na kahit noong nasa afternoon soaps pa lang ng TAPE Inc. si Marian ay ilang beses na rin silang nag-usap ng manager ng young actress na si Popoy Caritativo kung paano, kailan, at ano ang dapat na isaalang-alang para matuloy ang pagku-cover ni Marian sa FHM. Hanggang ngayon, ongoing pa rin daw ang imbitasyon ng FHM kay Marian na mag-cover kung kailan siya magiging ready.

           

Ito naman ang naging tugon ni Marian sa imbitasyon ng FHM sa kanya: “Basta sa lahat ng bagay, ready ako. Pero yung pagpo-pose nang sobrang sexy, hindi pa namin napag-uusapan ng manager ko. At saka palagi kong sinasabi, may limitation pa rin. Kung maganda yung concept, bakit hindi? Pero may limitation pa rin.

           

“At saka, yun nga, may mga contracts akong inaalagaan sa mga commercials ko na hindi puwedeng ganito, hindi puwedeng ganoon. So, kailangan ko pa ring alagaan ang image ko as wholesome pa rin tayo.”

           

Nagpasalamat din si Marian sa lahat ng mga bumoto sa kanya.

 

Aniya, “Kukuhanin ko na po ang pagkakataong ito para magpasalamat sa lahat ng bumoto sa akin. Utang na loob ko po ito sa inyo at para sa akin, kayo po talaga ang tunay na number one. Salamat po sa pagboto n’yo. At kung hindi po dahil sa inyo, wala po ako sa posisyong ito kaya maraming-maraming salamat po. At sana po, huwag po kayong magsawa sa akin. Para sa inyo po ang lahat ng ginagawa ko.”

Marian is FHM’s sexiest; Will she pose for mag?

Ito ang binitiwang pahayag ni Marian Rivera nang makapanayam noon tungkol sa posibilidad na maging cover girl ng men’s magazine na FHM.

At sa ulat ng Chika Minute ng GMA News 24 Oras nitong Biyernes, inilabas na nang FHM ang resulta ng taunang boto para sa 100 sexiest Pinay kung saan si Marian ang lumabas na number 1.

Mula sa top 24 noong 2007, hawak na ngayon ng star ng telefantasya ng GMA Network na “Dyesebel” ang titulo bilang pinaka-seksing Pinay ngayong 2008.

Ano kaya ang masasabi rito ng magandang aktres?

“Siyempre masaya ako na ako na yung number one. Tsaka syempre masaya ako para sa mga fans kasi sila naman talaga ang bumoto sa akin para malagay sa posisyon na ‘yan…inaalay ko yan para sa kanila,’ pahayag ni Marian.

Tutuparin ba nya ang kanyang unang sinabi na magko-cover siya kapag siya ang nag-number one?

“Hindi ko rin naman ini-expect na maging number one ako. Basta yung pagko-cover na ‘yan… basta maganda yung concept tsaka may limitasyon… tsaka yung manager ko na yung bahala tungkol dyan. Alam nya yung kakayahan ko at hindi ko kayang gawin,” pahayag pa ng aktres.

(UPDATED) Marian Rivera is FHM’s sexiest Pinay!

 

Marian Rivera’s fans have a reason to celebrate. The Dyesebel star is the first non-covergirl to be hailed as the Philippines’ Finest by FHM, the biggest-selling men’s magazine in the country.

The final results, sent to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) by the FHM group at exactly 6:36 p.m., indicated that Marian Rivera won with a total of 316, 135 votes, while Katrina Halili, two-time winner of FHM 100 Sexiest, landed the second spot with 123, 239 votes. Angel Locsin, who won as sexiest Pinay in 2005, came in third with 121, 388 votes.

FHM Philippines editor-in-chief Alan Madrilejos revealed to PEP that Marian Rivera enjoyed a considerably large lead in terms of online and text votes, while Katrina Halili topped the ballot-voting category. Meanwhile, this year’s global winner is Megan Fox.

MARIAN VERSUS ANGEL. One interesting twist to this year’s poll is the rivalry between Marian and Angel.

Fans of the two beautiful ladies united to give 100% support to their idols. Angel’s fans abroad claimed that they spent money on text just so they can send their votes. Marian’s fans, on the other hand, spent so many hours in front of the Internet to make sure that their Kapuso bet would reign supreme in the online-voting category.

Fans of the two women have been rooting and ranting in PEP’s FHM-related articles in the closing weeks of the tally, while waiting for the FHM Sexiest vote results. Their aggressiveness showed through the comments and the consistent arguments between the two escalated, even to the point of questioning FHM‘s voting system.

Even PEP’s own conducted poll, “Sino sa tingin mo ang tatanghaling sexiest Pinay ng ‘FHM‘?” drew fire from the fans as they carefully monitored and analyzed the results nearly every day. For them, percentage matters and .1% lead is a great deal especially if it means victory for their idol.

Now that the results are finally revealed, will this clash between the Marian and Angel fans also come to an end?

Of course, this is only one issue and many more will arise and present itself for the fans to again, rise up, and support their most loved idols.

FHM 100 Sexiest Women 2008 Poll Becomes Battle of the Fans

The fans of Angel Locsin are accusing FHM Magazine of manipulating the results of its annual poll and questioning Marian Rivera’s no. 1 position. On the other hand, the fans of Marian Rivera answered, “Kung si Katrina Halili nga tinalo si Angel noong 2006 at 2007, si Marian pa kaya na mas sikat pa kay Katrina ngayon.”
The controversy started when the rankings of the leading top 10 stars in the partial tally of FHM 100 Sexiest Women for 2008 were shaken based on the last update which was released last June 13, 2008. On May 30, a number of blogs and even TV Patrol reported that Angel Locsin is leading the poll with more than 7,000 votes ahead of the 2nd placer at that time which is Katrina Halili.

Almost everyone changed their rankings EXCEPT for Katrina Halili who remained 2nd and Angelica Panganiban who stayed at 9th position. Take note that Anne Curtis entered the top 10 on June 13 (no. 6) at the expense of EB Babe Lian who left the top 10.

FHM Digital Publisher Denis Achilles del Callar released their explanation via PEP regarding the controversy:

“Any ‘results’ previously released through FHM.com.ph’s newsletter specifically states ‘PARTIAL AND INCOMPLETE RESULTS.’ This is due to the fact that text votes do not come into our database automatically, they have to be gathered and added to the database—as do written/faxed votes.

“Contrary to the e-mails being circulated, we’ve never published the number of votes either on-line, through text or through the magazine. Any claim that so and so celebrity was leading last week by several thousand votes is therefore an act of fiction with no basis on reality.

“Also, voting was stricter this year precisely to discourage stars who pay people to do nothing but vote for them all day, only ten votes per day on-line and via text per user/cellphone is possible—unless you own multiple SIMs and user-Ids.”

As for the technical glitches occasionally encountered by the phone subscribers, Denis argued that the FHM team absolutely has nothing to do with it.

“We have no control over Smart, Globe, and Sun,” he explained. “If their system is currently faulty, it’s not our fault and there’s nothing we can do about it.”

Marian Rivera’s manager Popoy Caritativo was overwhelmed with the news that his talent is now leading the FHM poll. Between Angel, Iwa, Ehra, Katrina, Cristine and other stars trailing them, only Marian Rivera hasn’t been a covergirl of FHM yet. He said FHM has invited Marian to be their covergirl even before she became popular via the telenovela Marimar but they never seal the deal. He added that if ever Marian makes it to no. 1 this year, they might consider the offer.

Popoy also said that nobody from FHM called their camp to inform them that Marian Rivera is indeed leading the 100 Sexiest Women poll. They only asked for a photograph of Marian since the Dyesebel star is absolutely one of the 100 women in the list, as they also asked for a photograph from the other stars as well.

Alessandra de Rossi makes her FHM debut

This April, Alessandra de Rossi finally graces the cover of the country’s undisputed number one men’s magazine after years of waiting, and debuts as a recording artist simultaneously.

When FHM asked what she loved more than acting, Alessandra de Rossi surprisingly answered, “Mas mahal ko ang music.” But to this, she quickly adds, “Kaya lang, mas may napatunayan na ako sa acting.” Who would have thought that this award-winning actress was also blessed with talent in music?

So excited is she with her newfound career in music that she has decided to debut her first single, a cover of the Christopher Cross song Sailing, through FHM!

This April, Alessandra de Rossi finally graces the cover of the country’s undisputed number one men’s magazine after years of waiting, and debuts as a recording artist simultaneously.

The first time Alessandra decided to do an FHM cover four years ago, she backed out two days before the shoot. When asked about her last-minute stand not to go through with it, Alessandra shrugs it off. “Ayoko lang talaga. I [did not want to be seen as] a sex symbol,” she says about her decision then. But what made her decide to pose for FHM now?

Alessandra eagerly goes on about her new venture as a musician, and how launching her music career in FHM seems to be the perfect strategy. “May mas bobongga pa ba sa FHM? May magazine na, may album pa!,” she excitedly reveals.

Alessandra also talks about her first single, Sailing, which came about one day while she and her best friend were playing around with the computer. After hearing the song on the radio, they decided to do a chill-out remix of the song, with Alessandra on the vocal reins. “Pag wala kaming magawa, we make music. We actually have 11 songs, lahat original except for Sailing.”

Asked how best to describe her experience posing for FHM for the first time, Alessandra points to her first single. “Sabi nga sa lyrics, ‘It’s not far down to paradise/if the wind is right you can sail away‘,” she answers coyly.
