Dingdong-Marian birthday blowout to air on GMA-7, August 31

Dingdong-Marian birthday blowout to air on GMA-7, August 31

Watch the controversial concert of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera this Sunday, August 31, right after Ful Haus on GMA-7.

“Maraming-maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat. Salamat po sa inyong pakiki-celebrate n’yo sa amin!” ang magkaparehong sabi nina Marian Rivera at Dingdong Dantes noong Miyerkules ng gabi sa Araneta Coliseum kung saan ginanap ang kanilang Let’s Celebrate! The Dingdong-Marian Birthday Blowout.

Joyce Bernal.

Mapapanood ang Let’s Celebrate! The Dingdong-Marian Birthday Blowout ngayong Linggo, August 29, sa Sunday Night Box Office slot ng GMA-7.

TV Ratings (Aug. 20-25 2008) “ASAP ’08″ and “PDA” rule Sunday viewership

ABS-CBN programs dominated the ratings game last Sunday, August 24, when it topped both the daytime and primetime races.

ASAP ’08 maintained its No. 1 position in the daytime race by virtue of its 19.9 percent rating; beating rival SOP, which placed second with 16.1 percent.

One of the highlights of ASAP ’08 last Sunday was its grand promo for For The First Time, the first team-up of KC Concepcion and Kapuso top leading man Richard Gutierrez. Over at SOP, Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera—considered as the hottest love team today—also promoted their birthday concert at the Araneta Coliseum. Incidentally, the birthday blowout of Dingdong and Marian will happen on the night of the first day of showing of Richard and KC’s movie, August 27.

In the battle of showbiz talk shows, The Buzz once again prevailed over rival Showbiz Central with a slim margin—12.7 percent versus 12.2 percent.

In the primetime race, the junior edition of Pinoy Dream Academy led all shows with 27.8 percent; followed by the return of GMA-7′s game show Tok! Tok! Tok! Isang Milyon Pasok which generated 26.3 percent rating.

Mel & Joey came in third with 26.3 percent while Sharon was in fourth place with 24.8 percent. Sharon Cuneta’s guests last Sunday were daughter KC, Richard and his mom Annabelle Rama.

Completing the Top 10 were Kap’s Amazing Stories, Goin’ Bulilit, Rated K, All Star K, TV Patrol World, and Ful Haus.

Eat Bulaga! and Bitoy’s Funniest Videos, meanwhile were the top winners last Saturday, August 23.

Consistent Saturday-daytime toprater Eat Bulaga! got 23.3 percent; followed by Pinoy Records (18.6 percent), Wish Ko Lang (18 percent), Startalk (17.3 percent), and Wowowee (17.2 percent) to complete the Top 5.

Bitoy’s Funniest Videos reclaimed its No. 1 position by garnering a 30.1 percent rating with Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho a close second with 29.6 percent.

Pinoy Dream Academy was in third place with 26.7 percent while Imbestigador came in fourth with 25.6 percent. The second season of Celebrity Duets debuted at No. 5 with 24.8 percent.

Although Dyesebel still rules the weekday primetime race, Ako Si Kim Samsoon is showing a remarkable improvement in the ratings game. The Regine Velasquez-Mark Anthony Fernandez starrer ranked second for the first time last Friday, August 22, with 31.1 percent behind Dyesebel‘s 39.6 percent. Ako Si Kim Samsoon overtook Richard Gutierrez’s Codename: Asero, which had been consistently ranking second since its pilot episode until this point. Regine’s romantic-comedy series has been placing third and fourth the previous days.

Codename: Asero dropped to third place with 30.8 percent; followed by 24 Oras (27.3 percent), The Singing Bee (26.4 percent), Dyosa (25.3 percent), the final episode of Dalja’s Spring (23.3 percent), My Girl (23.2 percent), Iisa Pa Lamang (22.7 percent), and Pinoy Dream Academy (20.7 percent) to complete the Top 10.

Magdusa Ka, on the other hand, lorded it over all daytime shows with its 21.7 percent rating. The said GMA-7 Sine Novela also topped the daytime race last Wednesday and Thursday.

Yesterday, August 25, Magdusa Ka and Dyesebel also topped the daytime and primetime races, respectively.

Interestingly, the ratings of almost all ABS-CBN primetime shows went up, although GMA-7 programs Dyesebel, Codename: Asero, and 24 Oras still ranked higher.

The Singing Bee zoomed to fourth place with 28.7 percent; followed by Dyosa with 27 percent, Iisa Pa Lamang with 26 percent. GMA-7′s Ako Si Kim Samsoon dropped considerably to seventh place with 25.6 percent.

GMA-7 features breathtaking videos in “Bilib Ka Ba Nights”

GMA-7 features breathtaking videos in "Bilib Ka Ba Nights"

Be amazed by unbelievable stories on GMA-7′s “Bilib Ka Ba Nights.” From Monday to Wednesday three different foreign shows—Ripley’s Believe or Not, World Records, and Masquerade—will provide entertainment to televiewers. The show will be hosted by Chris Tiu, Paolo Contis, and comic duo Ariel and Maverick, respectively.

Replacing the reality show Kung Ako Ikaw, “Bilib Ka Ba Nights” aims to provide a venue for relaxation, entertainment, and strain-free viewing pleasure to its audience. Each of the shows will highlight bizarre performances, nutty physically challenges and out-of-this-world stories from all over the world.

On Monday nights, watch college basketball heartthrob Chris Tiu share strange stories gathered from around the world. This show is set amid a high-tech studio where Chris gives details about discovered artifacts, one-of-a-kind items and strangest exhibits.

Like most televiewers, Chris is excited to host the show. In fact, he said, “Ito ‘yong show na nandoon na ‘yon matagal na. Ever since bata pa lang ako, pinapanood ko na ‘yong Ripley’s Believe or Not. Ngayon na ako ay may chance na mag-host, siyempre very excited ako,” says Chris about his new hosting stint after Pinoy Records.

On Tuesday nights, watch the first-time show host Paolo Contis in revealing record-breaking stunts in World Records. Each episode of World Records features a compilation of astounding exhibitions played by international record-setters.

Lastly on Wednesdays, the comic duo, Ariel and Maverick, have fun while hosting Masquerade—Japan’s longest-running comedy series. The show will have amateur Japanese costumers with artistic props and special choreography to create live visual performances that trick one’s eye.

Unlike the usual hosting of a canned program, Maverick says that they will have a sort of skit for the show. He relates, “Meron kaming boss dito. We’re not talking to the audience, but we’re talking to the “madam” kasi we’re presenting her different talents. So, we get talents from outside—’yong mga nakikita naming talents, ‘yon yung mga pinapakita naming videos. ‘Tapos in the end, she will pick kung ano ‘yong nagustuhan niyang video.”

Don’t forget to join Chris, Paolo, Ariel, and Maverick on GMA-7′s “Bilib Ka Ba Nights” from Monday to Wednesday nights right after Dalja’s Spring.

GMA’s Ka-blog! airs pilot on Aug 9

“Sup? I googled my BFF’s e-shop, their just-in stuff’s the shiznit! They’ve got them on Flickr too. Don’t tell me you only friended her on Multiply? Get with it, IMHO Facebook’s got more oomph. BUZZ! You’re NR. I’ll be AFK now, SYWISY!”

If you could barely understand the jargon used in the previous paragraph, then GMA-7′s new show called Ka-blog is definitely for you.

There’s so much tech-speak going on among teens, the oldies might as well have been living under a rock. With new terminology cropping up each day like spambots (another thing there for the haplessly clueless to google) on your average website’s comments space, it’s like a whole new universe out there.

Of course, there is social networking, blogging and e-mailing but it’s a different story when things like phishing, twittering, and thread flaming start to come up.

The acronyms, too, are a mouthful: PSP, DoTA, WoW, and MMORPG for gaming, and the likes of IDK, DND, ROFL and LMAO for chatting. Bridging the generation gap hasn’t been easy before, but the evolving language makes it even more challenging.

The flurry of gadgets and gizmos in today’s high-speed world has upped the tempo of everyday life, and among all, the youth are the ones that have done the best catching up so far.

A new breed of teenagers has emerged, one that inhabits a parallel society within the physical: the online world. They create cyber-identities and hook up with e-friends to walk in virtual villages, and they do it all in their seats with a couple of mouse clicks.

Adults can either shake their heads and lament at how the good ol’ times are gone or they can go right on with the flow.

In response to these changes in our high-tech world, GMA-7′s News and Public Affairs team will be rolling out a new show titled Ka-blog! This unique magazine show will feature anything and everything about adolescent life.

Each week, Ka-blog! will serve as the tambayan for teens to get a load of the latest updates, trends, and information on the many issues relevant to them—from fashion forecasts to mind-blowing tech toys, the hippest hangouts and the hottest heartthrobs. Viewers can also expect to learn more about the problems that face teens today.

Hosted by the newest and youngest reporters on GMA-7, Ka-blog! will take teen viewers on a weekly ride to discovering and examining the wonderful things about being a Pinoy teen. Smart and chic Andrea Torres, the show’s official style sister, will help teens navigate through ever-evolving fashion and lifestyle trends.

Total performer and tech enthusiast Mico Aytona is the show’s resident IT guy, for the total lowdown on the coolest gaming and gadget stuff.

Athletics and recreation are right up the alley of sporty dude Lucky Mark Mercado for maxed-out moves to keep active. For teens with dating dilemmas, BFF problems or questions they dare not ask their family, Monica Verallo is the go-to girl on all matters personal.

Together, Andrea, Mico, Lucky and Monica are all set to guide teen viewers as well as their folks, as they deal with the triumphs and challenges of adolescence.

Ka-blog! is definitely going to make a change on their Saturday viewing habits, with a barkada they can turn to at all times, be it for a shoulder to cry on, or a best friend to laugh with.

Ka-blog! airs its pilot episode on August 9 (Saturday) 10 am on GMA-7. – Philippine Entertainment Portal

Kapuso shows still dominate Mega-Manila. TV RATINGS for JULY 25 – 28 , 2008

Kris Aquino’s game show in ABS-CBN, Kapamilya Deal Or No Deal, returned to primetime television—temporarily replacing Wheel of Fortune, also hosted by Kris—last night, July 28. On its premiere episode, Deal Or No Deal beat its rival program, GMA-7′s Gobingo hosted by Arnell Ignacio, by virtue of its 18.5 percent rating but it slightly missed out the Top 10.

Kapuso Network’s fantaserye, Dyesebel, remains the most-watched primetime show in Mega Manila. It went back to above-40 percent rating last night, 42.5 percent to be exact, after generating 30-percent ratings in the past couple of weeks.

Codename: Asero is still in second place with 37.3 percent while Ako Si Kim Samsoon climbs back to No. 3 with 31.9 percent. Completing the Top 5 are GMA-7 primetime newscast 24 Oras (30.1 percent) and ABS-CBN soap Iisa Pa Lamang (25.1 percent).

The rest of the Top 10 was occupied by The Singing Bee, TV Patrol World, My Girl, Pinoy Dream Academy, and Dalja’s Spring.

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s State Of The Nation Address (SONA) disrupted the regular daytime programming. GMA-7′s coverage of GMA’s SONA ranked third overall with 18.3 percent behind top-rater Daisy Siete’s 21.7 percent and Eat Bulaga’s 19.9 percent. ABS-CBN’s coverage of the SONA, meanwhile, placed 8th overall with 13.9 percent.

Also making it in the Top 10 are Wowowee (No. 4); Magdusa Ka (No. 5); Marimar (No. 6); Pilipinas, Game KNB? (No. 7); Ligaw Na Bulaklak (No. 9), and PDA Uber (No. 10).

SOP regained the top spot in Sunday’s (July 27) daytime viewing when it beat rival ASAP ’08, 16.2 percent vs. 14.1 percent. ASAP ’08 tied with Showbiz Central in second place.

Also figuring in the Top 5 are Your Song (14 percent), Dear Friend (13.9 percent), and Takeshi’s Castle (12.6 percent).

In the primetime race, Kap’s Amazing Race finished at first place with 24.5 percent; closely followed by second-placer Pinoy Idol with 24.1 percent. Completing the Top 5 are Mel & Joey, Goin’ Bulilit, and Pinoy Dream Academy.

Eat Bulaga! once again ruled the daytime race last Saturday, July 26, with 21.6 percent. Coming in second was Pinoy Record with 19.7 percent while Wish Ko Lang grabbed the third spot with 17.6 percent. Wowowee and Cinema FPJ came in third and fourth, respectively.

ABS-CBN’s Entertainment Live! slightly edged out GMA-7′s StarTalk in the battle of showbiz talk shows, 11.2 percent vs. 11.1 percent, to take the 8th and 9th positions, respectively.

Bitoy’s Funniest Videos topped the primetime race with 26.1 percent; followed by Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (25.5 percent), Pinoy Dream Academy (23.9 percent), Pinoy Idol (23.4 percent), and Charice Pempengco’s life story in Maalaala Mo Kaya (21.4 percent). Charice’s MMK episode rated better that Gretchen Barretto’s episode, which was shown last week.

Eat Bulaga! also finished at No. 1 last Friday, July 25, but it tied with Magdusa Ka, having an identical 19.8 percent rating. Taking the third to fifth spots are Daisy Siete (17.7 percent), El Cuerpo del Deseo (17.3 percent), and Wowowee (15.8 percent).

Primetime TV still belonged to Dyesebel taking in 39.1 percent; followed by Codename: Asero (35.1 percent), Ako Si Kim Samsoon (31.6 percent), 24 Oras (26.4 percent), and The Singing Bee (22.9 percent).

Dyesebel tops NUTAM June 2008 ratings

A month after being dislodged by Cesar Montano’s The Singing Bee, Marian Rivera’s Dyesebel bounced back to reclaim the lead in the NUTAM (Nationwide Urban TV Audience Measurement) ratings albeit a slim margin. For the month of June, the legendary Pinoy mermaid garnered a nationwide rating of 33.6 percent against the karaoke game show’s 32.9 percent.

Angel Locsin and Piolo Pascual’s recently-concluded series Lobo also showed up in the primetime race, this time garnering a rating of 32.4 percent to secure the third spot. ABS-CBN’s reality show Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus, which ended last month, likewise showed its grit by registering a 31 percent grade followed by Joaquin Bordado’s 30.1 percent.

The pilot episode of Regine Velasquez’s Ako si Kim Samsoon made an impressive debut, notching the 7th spot overall via its 26-percent marker. Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson’s My Girl and TV Patrol World both gained identical rating of 29.5 percent.

Also making it in the Top 10 are Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita (No. 8) and 24 Oras (No. 10).

The coverage of action superstar Rudy Fernandez’s burial on June 12 at the Heritage Park & Crematorium in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City emerged as the most-watched program in the daytime Weekday Programs category. GMA-7′s coverage, which garnered 26 percent, bested ABS-CBN’s coverage with 22.9 percent. Separating the two was the Mexicanovela El Cuerpo del Deseo, which gained a rating of 23.6 percent.

Roxanne Guinoo’s afternoon soap Ligaw na Bulaklak settled for fifth spot behind afternoon variety show Wowowee.

GMA-7′s Dramarama Sa Hapon Block occupied the four of the last five slots—Kaputol ng Isang Awit at No. 6; Daisy Siete and Magdusa Ka tied at No. 7 and No. 8; and Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan (No. 10).

ABS-CBN’s daily game show Pilipinas, Game KNB? grabbed the ninth place.

Manny Pacquiao’s fight against David Diaz proved to be a winner in the Weekend Programs (daytime) bracket. Amassing a whopping rating of 46 percent rating, the match dubbed as Lethal Combination, was a runaway winner with second placer Wowowee only managing to secure a 22.5 percent rating.

Star Cinema movies Pasukob and You Got Me, which were pitted against the Pacquiao-Diaz match, occupied the third and fourth spots with 20.1 percent and 18.8 percent, respectively. Cinema FPJ: Da King on ABS-CBN grabbed the fifth spot with 18.7 percent.

Though a no show in the weekday contest, Eat Bulaga! made its presence felt by gathering an 18.2 percent rating, good enough for sixth place.

Kapamilya shows ASAP ’08 and Your Song grabbed the seventh and eights spots, respectively.

Rounding up the entire cast are Wish Ko Lang and The Buzz.

Moving over to the primetime race, ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Big Brother secured 1st and 2nd place respectively. PBB Teen Edition’s Big Night gained 42.4 percent while PBB Teen Edition: The Big Reunion garnered 32.7 percent.

Two other Kapamilya shows, Kapitan Boom and Pinoy Dream Academy, which replaced PBB, were tied in third and fourth place with 29.4 percent; followed by the regular airing of PBB with 29 percent.

The rest of the Top 10 were occupied by Goin’ Bulilit; Bitoy’s Funniest Videos; Rated K; Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho; and Kap’s Amazing Stories.

Camera Café – Intellectual Comedy on GMA and QTV

Camera Café is a situational 5-minute comedy television show that airs from Monday to Friday on GMA 7 and QTV 11.
Caméra Café is a French-born concept of comedy television series exported around the world. A movie spin-off has been made in France under the title of Espace détente. It was originally a French television show created by Bruno Solo, Yvan Le Bolloc’h and Alain Kappauf and broadcast from September 2001 to December 2003 on the M6 channel.

Each episode runs for about 5 minutes. The show revolves around a dysfunctional office. Its originality stems from the fact that, within the fiction, the camera is fixed into the automated coffee machine of the office space.

The Philippine edition is produced, written and directed by Mark Meily.

The cast are:

Epy Quizon as JC
Bearwin Meily as Harvey
Candy Pangilinan as Fonda
Assunta de Rossi as Puri
Jaime Fabregas as Boss Ric
Christian Vasquez as Sylvio
Joy Viado as Joy
LJ Reyes as Julie
(And a lot more)

Catch Camera Cafe on QTV 11 from Monday to Friday at 10:00 am, 1:45 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and on GMA 7 before the Marimar rewind.

Here’s an episode dedicated to “pirated DVDs”:

GMA talents win awards in Asian Supermodel Tilt

Three of the five Philippine representatives to the Asia Supermodel Contest in China brought home recognitions.

Napadaan si Jenny Donato of GMA Artist Center sa Station 168 Internet Café sa Tomas Morato kagabi, May 27. Kauuwi pa lang niya from China dahil siya ang sumama sa limang GMA Artist Center stars na sina Rhian Ramos, Steph Henares, Arci Muñoz, Abby Cruz, and Rhea Nakpil who competed for the Asia Super Model Contest.

Ginanap ang competition sa Guangxi TV station sa Naning, China just the other night, May 26.

A South Korean representative became first runner-up at second runner-up naman ang isa sa representative ng Indonesia.

Pitong bansa ang naglaban-laban, each sending five delegates—the Philippines, China, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, and Thailand. – Philippine Entertainment Portal
